Apparently, her bad marriages, insecurities and inability to have children were taking their toll on the Hollywood actress. While her acting career was soaring like an eagle, her personal life was burning itself out like a phoenix, but unlike a phoenix, there was no chance of rebirth. After a couple of devastating miscarriages and a gynecological surgery she fell prey to pills and alcohol. In 1961, Marilyn Monroe acted in her last completed movie called “The Misfits” which was written by her soon to be ex-husband Arthur Miller. Ironically, John Huston, the director who cast her for her first big break, “The Asphalt Jungle” also cast her for this film. “The Misfits” also happened to be acting legend Clark Gable’s last film before he died a year later due to a heart attack. Marilyn Monroe would attempt to star in the movie “Something’s Got to Give” but would be dropped from the films cast due to drug abuse and frequent no shows.

Became very popular in 1900s, a shimmering glass pattern called Fenton carnival glass still continue to attract interest today. The Fenton carnival glass find its self the most popular even if other companies have made clear glass dinnerware over time. Northwood glass became the major competitor of Fenton carnival glass in 1908 introducing their shimmering glass items.

The Fenton carnival glass was introduced in a trade magazine in October 1907 with production beginning shortly thereafter. Over 2,000 different patterns have been made. About 1,000 patterns are best known, with the other 1,000 patterns being more rare. Kitten and rabbit patterns were popular with children.

The iridescent glass appeared to have a metallic luster and sheen and was very unique in appearance. Items such as bowls, mugs, vases, plates, and entire table settings are produced using this glass. Popular colors in which the pieces were made were marigold, cobalt, and amethyst and these were the best sellers.

Fenton carnival glass is made by pressing liquid glass into a hot metal mold. It takes the shape of the mold as it cools, and while it’s still hot, the glass is sprayed with a unique mixture containing metallic salts in liquid. This causes the iridescent sheen. To prevent cracking, it was cooled very slowly, taking a full 24 hours for the glass to reach room temperature.

The pieces were originally sold in the discount shops over America, but, after sales went down and popularity waned, they were sold in the main part to the carnivals, which gave away as prices on the middle course. This is how it got the name “the carnival” glass. The colours of the rainbow fit also into a carnival attitude.

Clear glass dinnerware is a popular collector’s item all over the nation. Fenton carnival glass is no exception, and because of this, it can often be found at garage and yard sales, flea markets, antique stores, and auctions. Remember that the glassware is fragile, and must be treated carefully. Even slight bumps can cause damage to the unique shine. It can also fade in sunlight, so it should be stored appropriately. My aunt recently found her latest hobby of collecting oil painting from photos of food and wine highly profitable.  Her hobby extended so well that now she is not just buying oil painting from photo of food and wine for the kitchen and dining rooms of her own home but also for other restaurants.  Her talent or expertise on matching the painting of food and wine to the restaurant has made her cash in more income.

One time, she sold a painting of food and wine to a martini bar.  She has also sold this mouth-watering painting called Chocolatey to a candy store.  An oil painting of an oversized pie was sold by her to a nearby pie shop.  An oil painting by Marie M. Vlasic of a lobster was so beautiful that my aunt successfully won the heart of the owner of a fish shop to buy it.

But the most unforgettable thing that my Aunt did was when he showed up with a painting of an unopened bottle of beer on my 26^th birthday.  At the end of my birthday party, she confessed that she wanted to give me a wine painting but a mini-bar across the street bought it and she could not refused for the owner was her ex-boyfriend.

The Doumbek is a drum that goes by many other names in different parts of the world. In Yugoslavia, it is called a darbuk. In Iran, it is called a Tombak or Zarb. In Syria and Lebanon, it is called a derbakeh. It seems that “doumbek” is the Armenian name for the instrument. It is also known simply as a “goblet drum” because of its appearance. In the Middle East, it has been used in traditional and folk music, and also in belly dancing. When the instrument is stuck hard in the center, it produces a loud, resonating “doum” sound. Alternately, when it is tapped lightly along the edge with one’s fingertips, it makes a “tek” sound. Sometimes handclapping is used in conjunction with the doumbek.

While the film is of a serious nature, it plays as a comedy and turns out to be well-crafted entertainment. While not deeply insightful, Charlie Wilsons War dvd is an eye-opening and sassy tale of political will making for unlikely bedfellows. Though pitched as comedy with absurdist flourishes, you can’t help thinking that Charlie Wilson’s War accurately captures the less-than-kosher methods by which laws are passed and money dispersed in our nation’s capital. sharp, smart and funny When dealing with larger-than-life personalities, world conflicts, and a future of unspeakable misery, 90 minutes and some sugared patter just doesnt satisfy. Director Mike Nichols, working from Sorkins terrifically written screenplay and with a cast thats obviously game and eager to please, pulls it all together and makes it work in an utterly convincing and crowd-pleasing fashion

A paint-by-the-numbers chick flick. Heigl and Marsden are likeable, and one does not leave the theater feeling that your intelligence has been insulted. My favorite performer in the movie, Judy Greer, is a deadpan killah as Janes co-worker. She and Heigl deserve fresher stuff. 27 Dresses blu-ray A forgettable, formulaic comedy so predictable that seeing it and skipping it are the exact same thing. The filmic equivalent of a baby: cute, pampered, craving attention, and somewhat smelly thanks to all the formula passing through it. The cast makes it work. If you are looking for a bit of dippy romance at the cinema, this is worth trying on for size.
